How to search for Myspace Profiles E-mail

Finding someone on MySpace can be very easy, if you start with the right information. You can search by their name, user name, email address or even the school they attend or attended. Or, you can search by fields of interest and find a new friend.

Here are the simple steps to find someone if you already know their name or user name.

Step 1: Log-in to MySpace.
Step 2: Across the light blue bar in the middle of the screen, select search.
Step 3:  If you already know the real name of the person you are looking for, scroll down to “Find a Friend” and mark the circle before “Name.”
Step 4: Type the person’s name in the gray box.
Step 5: Hit Find.

Find a Friend

Warning: If you are hunting for someone with a very common name, you might want to try looking them up by their user name. Or, when the search comes back with hundreds of people with that name, consider using the additional search function on the right-hand side of the screen.

In the blue box on the right-hand side of the screen, you can narrow your search further by adding the country or zip code the person lives in. This helps if you are looking for “Dawn” who lives in your town, but may not help as much if you are looking for “Tom” from Chicago.

If you don’t know the real name of the person you are looking for, but have their user name, you can choose “User Name” to search by instead or you can search by their email address.

Another good option to find people on MySpace is to search via your school. Instead of “Find a Friend”, scroll down to “Classmate Finder”.
Then, it’s as easy as 1,2,3.

Step 1: Fill in the name of your school. Choose your country and you state or territory. Then, hit find.
Step 2: Find your school on the list in blue and click it.
Step 3: Fill in the blanks on the blue box and hit update. Then a list of people on MySpace from your school will show up underneath the box. You can search by age, years that they attend the school, year they graduated, clubs they were in or simply by age and sex.

Find a classmate

Finally, you can also search by people in a specific field by keyword, position title or their field of interest. While this option is currently available at MySpace, it often yields no results and is simply not the best option for finding people. The best results for finding people on MySpace often come through school searches as name searches too often come up with hundreds of people to screen through to find the one you are looking for.
