Ideas for Using MySpace to Raise Awareness E-mail

With millions of people on MySpace the latest social networking site around, what place could possibly be better to raise awareness for your cause or organization?  Very few places can offer the massive advertising and networking connections that MySpace does.  A MySpace profile is cheap, easy to maintain and is accessible by the masses who flock there daily.

This makes it the perfect place to help promote your organization.  Many organizations are already on MySpace.  This helps spread the word like a wildfire about those organizations that catch the public’s attention and causes the amount of support some organizations receive to increase greatly.  While many organizations like receiving money, and volunteer hours to help them survive, most actually like to know that they have support from the public for what they are pushing for.

Whether it is a bird sanctuary, to a political race, or even a push to ban pizza at school on Thursdays, there are tons of different organizations that have a presence on MySpace.  These organizations all need the support of people to help them stay afloat.  After all, those organizations that do not have any support are the ones that fail and go under.  This is not what most organizations want to see happen at all.  The creators of the organization are left trying to figure out how to spread their message to the most people possible.

So how can the organizations actually get their message out to the masses?  With a MySpace page, they can keep people updated quickly and easily, and even add many different friends that can help.  They can great a group that will allow for the different people who support the organization to talk easily and so much more.  With widgets being available now that will allow users to download files, as well as stream audio and video, plus even add live chat it makes MySpace the perfect place for organizations to spread their message.

Gone are the days of groups only being able to spread the word through word of mouth, it makes it very difficult for groups to survive that way.  In an era where internet communication is chief, handing out flyers at local stores is not as effective as it used to be.  This makes it very difficult for some to spread their message.

If you have a group, or organization and a message to spread would you rather use the easy methods of spreading the word online with a place that gives the tools you need, or you can go out and drive around, spend tons on gas, and then struggle to spread your message.

Whether you have a fundraiser, a meeting, a rally or anything else MySpace allows you to tell a lot of people about what is going on very quickly.  This frees up your time so that you can do more work for pushing your cause, instead of merely scraping to get by because you are so busy with flyers and standing in front of stores only to find one or 2 people who have your same interests and thoughts.

Use the information age to help you, not harm you.  Spend the time acquainting yourself with the layout of MySpace and all of the tools that are available.  You can create easily a very powerful profile page for your organization in less than a day that enables you to quickly get your word out.  Now you are no longer stuck doing things the old-fashioned way, you can get out and start gathering more support for your group and enjoy the success of the viral internet craze.
